What is Jute?
Jute is a natural fiber. It’s extracted from the bark of the white jute plant. When you soak jute stems in water, it helps separate the fibers from the stem. The fibers can be spun into yarn and twine, even fine, imitation silk, sackcloth or textiles. In our case, the fibers are made into artisanal ecofriendly shoes.
Jute fiber is 100% bio-degradable and recyclable. It’s strong, breathable and can replace wood in pulp and paper.
